A whale shark is a species of large, slow-moving shark that is known for being the largest fish in the world. They can grow up to lengths of over 40 feet (12 meters) and can weigh as much as 47,000 pounds (21,500 kg). Despite their enormous size, they are known for being gentle creatures that pose no threat to humans.
